Change username in Outlook


For Outlook

  1. On the Tools menu, click E-mail accounts.
  2. Select View or change existing e-mail accounts, and then click Next.
  3. Select the e-mail account that you want to update with a new username, and then click Change.
  4. In the Username box, type your email address, and then click Next.
  5. Click Finish.
  6. Send an email to yourself to make sure you can send and receive emails.


For Outlook Express versions 5 and 6

  1. Open Outlook Express.
  2. Click on the Tools menu, then click on Accounts.
  3. Click on the Mail tab, select the account you wish to change, and then click the Properties button.
  4. Click on the Servers tab.
  5. Change the current Account Name (the field above the Password) to your email address.
  6. Click on the Apply button, then click on the OK button.
  7. Click on the Close button. Send an email to yourself to make sure you can send and receive emails.


For Outlook Express version 7

  1. Open Outlook Express.
  2. Go to "Tools" on the top toolbar menu.
  3. Click "Account Settings."
  4. Highlight your user name in the list provided and click the icon that says "Change." This icon has an image of a hand and paper.
  5. Go to "User Name" directly under "Log-On Information" Enter your new user name, which is just your email address. Click "Next" and then "Finish" to save your settings.
  6. Send an email to yourself to make sure you can send and receive emails
